So, it looks like I'm not abandoning Verizon for Working Assets yet, since WA will not answer via e-mail my questions about service on their phones, and also several friends and relatives have Verizon, and we get the "subject of the Evil Empire" unlimited minutes deal when talking together.
My beloved Sony Clie' died in December, was resurrected, and is now unreliable and not quite sync-able. So I need to choose a replacement, possibly by replacing my old phone and the handheld with my Verizon contract renewal.
This is what I need to have:
phone
address book-- syncs with MS Outlook
appointments-- syncs with MS Outlook
sync and produce Word and Excel documents (WinXP; probably need to get Vista-compatible to plan ahead) - either using a software that comes with, or through DataViz Docs to Go, which I already have...
Less Important, but would be nice:
viewing PowerPoint and PDFs - either using a software that comes with, or through DataViz Docs to Go...
viewing books-- not really necessary if I have PDFs
web browsing - although it looks like I'll have to pay loads to get this on Verizon, I'm not sure
storage and means to view pictures
a game or two
music storage/playback-- would be neat, but I don't need it, I'll probably give in and get an iPod eventually anyhow...

Any suggestions/personal reviews?
For months I've been looking at reviews, but typical users/reviewers seem to be either high-powered business types who travel a lot and need lots of features I don't, or, well, slackers who just want lots of games while tracking their social life. I'm just an admin type and volunteer who needs to take notes during meetings and classes (by the way, something with a screen that's visible in natural light so I can take notes during festival workshops would be cool), keep in touch with both my social and work life, and perhaps entertain myself while in line or resting.
The spacing issue is in IE 8; it looks fine in Firefox, in the section ending with "What does the word "Wicca" mean to you. I can post screen caps if you wish, but it's a likely that the CSS is…

I particularly like, "This is not a consumer event."
