So, the bodice is all cut out. The interlining and the wool are sewn into a bodice. The lining is sewn into a bodice.
And it only took cutting the back out three times. I've evidently lost weight in odd places since I made the gold gown - it was fully three or so inches too wide. So I recut the back - and forgot to add seam alloance. >.< So I recut that back, and remembered the seam allowance, and managed to accomplish all this, plus pulling out sleeve pattern pieces and deciding that I had to wait for the completed (or at least "shoulder straps at or near compled") bodice to know if I had enough wool for what I wanted, in the time before I left late for the meeting.
B was supposed to teach dance tonight, but for obvious reasons postponed it. So, random A&S night. I took the cotton-linen to cut out the smocks with. I have enough left over for ruffly bits and a caul or coif or three. Maybe a smock for Meg, too. We'll see. There were new folks there, too, so that turned out all for the good. We were able to give them more direct help. Ramin got some help in cutting out a new fighting tunic, and I gave him both vertetsable.com for sewing facing pointers and my card in case he ran into something, or wanted, ehm, live tech support or something. He is also looking into getting a robe together for his persona out of armor, which is nice. He knows what he wants, and wants me to help, so I will be doing some looking up of pre-Sassanid invasion Persia. Yep. pre-650 and Persian, to boot. So this'll be different.
Picked up a diet Coke and some lotto tickets on the way, just 'cause wouldn't it be nice? I'm currently trying to thaw some meatballs for my shells and sauce for my second dinner, because my stomach's gone hobbit on me again. Dammit. Right, meme-age: What would I do if I won the lottery? (Hit the jackpot now, and it's at least $330 million). ( Read more...Collapse )
Huh. I just realized that I totally forgot about Disneyland. Yeah, that, too. But these other things would be... cooler. All right, I need to go rip the contacts off my eyeballs, brush my teeth, and hit the bed. Tomorrow, get up and put the bodice together, and take care of the sleeve thing. After work, I'll do eyelets, and put on the skirt, after taking care of the sleeve issue. And, holy crap, it's a new outfit. I might be able to get a couple of new smocks out, too, which would be gravy. Actually, even just one would be gravy, but since the bits are already cut out, sewing two at once is quicker than sewing them separately.
