MAA IS DONE. IT IS DONE IT IS DONE IT IS DONNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Sorry. I just had to get that out. Blame it on the sustaining cracktastic!Devil Wears Prada community over here that has CAPSLOCK TUESDAYS. They are seriously the reason I made it through today (and simultaneously didn't start studying until really late for the test, but who the fuck cares, I got my shit done).
Now I have two days of packing and studying Brit Lit. And agonizing over grades. But we're not thinking about that second part right now.
My Theatre final took all of ten minutes this morning. I shit you not. Ten minutes. Or less. *eyeroll* Very frustrating to have gotten up so damned early just for that. Had breakfast and was back in bed within the hour.
ZZZZed the fuck out until noonish, then proceeded to get on LJ and CAPSLOCK IT UP until I finally got round to going, okay, I have no time left for procrastination, self, you really have to do this now and then I'd say, well, ten more minutes and suddenly it was 3:30 and then it was 4:30 and I finally kicked myself off LJ at like 4:45pm and buckled down and got shit done. Haven't really eaten all that well today except for breakfast because I've only had 2 bags of M&Ms (the diet and exercise got defenestrated Saturday, I'll pick it up next week), Doritos, a bottle of orange Fanta, a bowl of Frosted Flakes and some breadsticks from Pizza Hut because everybody and their MOM was in there before my exam and Sam was kind enough to drop me off at my dorm at 10pm tonight so I didn't want her to have to drive around to the 459. I'm praying my bike will make it through the night. I'll fetch it in the morning when I go geach me some breakfast.
Am seriously in the homestretch now. I can't believe I'll be home for summer already! God, I'm so used to this room. It's going to be insane leaving it. IN. SANE.
OH AND THE ROCKETS TOTALLY WON LAST NIGHT SUCK IT LAKERS, SUCK ITTTTTTT
I apologize. I get really vulgar when it comes to competition and sports teams and finals. It's kind of a brand of crazy I only go during certain situations. But then again, I borrow evrymemry 's phrase of top-shelf crazy and roll with that on the regular basis, so it's all good.
Oh, damn. I still have to make mom's Mother's Day gift. Fucking coasters. I'll come up with something, I suppose. It'll be nice stress relief tomorrow.
And thanks to listening to my Muse station on Pandora all day, I've heard Take A Bow by the title artist three times and have realized it was in Watchmen in that crazy intense scene of climax. Or, well, one of them. I LOVE MUSE SO HARD. I also love them because Diane Neal loves them, and I'm tired of pointing out that i'm just kinda batshit crazy about that funny lady, and therefore have no shame about it. Am not enjoying her new site all that much just because she's really fond of the papyrus font/it's really pink. Like. REALLY. Pink. But that's okay because I totally found out from there that she twitters (along with Nathan Fillion, Ice-T, Hugh Jackman, Angelina and Brad -apparently it's for real-, Shaq, Oprah, Denise Richards and Lance Armstrong) and she posted lots more pics of her being pretty/goofy/as a child!
Is it sad that I thinking of getting a twitter JUST to stalk my celeb obsessions?
Voyager tonight is only Once Upon A Time. I think I'll pass. Althought I totally SQUEED like the rabid fangirl I am when I saw that Monday's ep is fucking INFINITE REGRESS EEEEE. See what I mean? The squealing, it is totally unintentional. It's just ... instinct. Anyway.
I think I should get to bed. Because I sort of plan on getting up in the morning for food. And then coming right back to sleep. Say It Ain't So is a good song to end it on. Thanks Weezer. For being awesome. (And having colored albums, that's just so cool.)
Got up at ungodly early 7:30am to take my Fiction final. I really wish it had been later, my sentences were hopefully coherent and deep enough for an A. I'd have to had Fed that up so seriously to not get an A in that class. So that's done.
Came back, got breakfast, stomach was hurting so I decided to sleep it off a bit. Crashed until roughly noon, even though I got 7+ hours last night, I was out well before midnight. Halfheartedly got up, studied French some, ignored MAA (because the thought of it very seriously makes me want to just start crying) and then left to gather with my classmates at 3:30 for a review.
Ha da pretty good one with Angelique for roughly an hour, then grabbed some Chick-Fil-A with classmates prior to the exam. I did... okay. Hopefully well enough to keep my A, but negation and depuis v. pendant can go right to hell and die in a fire. To get a B, I basically had to show up, so that's a check. If the math is right, I only had to pass to get an A. I'd really love to do well on the final, though, considering I didn't do so hot on my second essay/composition/Redacion thing. I'm seriously going to miss Angelique; she's not even teaching here next semester. *pout*
Got back from the test at about 7:30, too late to start watching this EPIC EPISODE OF HOUSE THAT THE ENTIRE HUDDY COMMUNITY HAS BEEN FLAILING OVER SINCE LAST WEEK'S PROMO, plus Steph was already watching Dancing With the Stars. Which is admittedly good, but cor, I will not miss having to share my television during the summer.
Couldn't seem to find it in me to bring myself to study, so I watched Castle after Dancing With The Stars. OH YES. Do not want an old flame coming into Beckett's life! Want Castle in Beckett's life! AND SHE'S SUCH A FANGIRL EEEE I love it. LOOOOVE it. :D
Dear TV Gods,
Please to not be canceling Dollhouse or Castle. JUST GIVE ME 13 MOAR EPISODES PLZ PLZ PLZ
Your rabid fangirl, Me
Have an ungodly early 7:30am AGAIN tomorrow for Theatre, which won't take me long to study for tonight. AFTER HOUSE. Which I have downloaded now. (And then I am going to have to start thinking about MAA. This is when crying will commence.)
ROCKETS ARE UP 8 ON THE LAKERS DO WORK BOYS DO WORK DO ITTTTTTTTTT
10:00am - Steph gets up to go get McDonald's breakfast. Consume at 45 after.
11:00 - Give self until 15 after to laze in bed, then begin studying.
12:00pm - Studying with Steph in the dorm room, playing music and trading FML looks. Called Mom, talked for ~30 min.
1:00pm - Decided to do laundry as a distraction
2:00pm - Clothes go in dryer, Steph and I go to Union to grab lunch.
3:00pm - Steph and I return from the Union COMPLETELY FUCKING SOAKED because a torrential downpour opened up on us about a minute after we left the Union. We had just bought scantrons/blue books needed for our exams this week. Yes, they were just as wet as us. Luckily, they were just paper and dried easily enough in front of our fan. I proceeded to put on warm, dry clothes I retrieved from the dryer downstairs in my bath-towel shammy. Thing. (I don't know how to describe it. This is what it looks like, except a bit fluffier, with straps and polka dots instead of stripes.) Of course, it made doing my hair for two hours on Friday night completely pointless, KTHX GOD. That run in the rain where it felt like I was underwater because so much water was in my eyes constituted my workout for today.
4:00pm - Wonder where the fuck the day got to. Study more.
5:00pm - Get invited to dinner, decline. Am not in the mood to try facing off with the clouds again any time soon. Was rocking out to Fall Out Boy's Foile a Deux hardcore. (KNOCK ONCE FOR THE FATHER, TWICE FOR THE SON, THREE TIMES FOR THOLY GHOOOOOOOOOST!!!)
6:00pm - At the half hour take a dinner break, rewrite up schedule on whiteboard to reflect changes and accomplishments. Look at whiteboard. Cry. (Not quite, but I whined a lot today.) Talked to Bethany on Skype between multitasking/writing out quicksheets for novels/plays I'll need to know in the next two days.
7:00pm - At half past, finish all work on THTR reviewing, can now solely focus on French. Decide that 10:00 will be my cut off for French studying to change to Fiction, which is bright and early at 7-ungoldy-early-hour-30am tomorrow morning. Call Liz because I'm listening to the birthday mix CD she gave me and I had a strange urge to sing Baba O'Reilly to her. (It's the Who, you do what the music tells you.) Dragged self off the phone roughly half-past.
8:00pm - Start going through the chapters and conjugating all the verbs I'm supposed to know. Freak out a little at misconjugating basic verbs. Go through notecards periodically in hopes of improving upon the 60+ words of 5 chapters I didn't know. Did improve marginally.
9:00pm - Sometime during the hour get to chapter 10 and realize that I've not had notecards for this chapter's vocabulary all weekend. "FUCK." Sigh, and get out notecards to amend this.
10:00pm - Roughly 10 minutes after, finish chapter 10 vocab flashcards. Clean up and call it a night except for reviewing Fiction notes.
I plan on going to sleep at 11:00pm, and by that I mean turning the lights down, being in bed and praying non-stressed sleep will overtake me. Yesterday I didn't get into a good sleep until roughly 4:00am because my mind would not shut down. I kept stressing about things like my MAA final (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-- sorry, the thought of it induces screaming panic) or oversleeping on Monday/Tuesday for 7:30am finals or how much I had left to study... Yeah. I've got a fair bit of French left to go over, but I have the whole day + hopefully review time with Angelique and my classmates for two solid hours before the exam itself, barring rain.
In conclusion, I need to go so that I can study AND actually get some sleep so that I won't want to crash tomorrow and waste precious studying time on sleep. G'night.
*Duh I was intermittently on LJ/Gmail/Facebook. I might have DIED otherwise.
Because I'm pretty sure the last time I checked, it was 9-something, and this is just un-friggin-acceptable.
Seriously, I've been studying ALL DAY TODAY for double-digit hours now. Barring about an hour of eating and two trips to the UREC and minor breaks of 10-20 minutes on the internet/LJ/gmail.
I felt so good yesterday. Where has my happy gone?
Countdown to H-Town: 6 days
If tomorrow's post is just keyboard smashing and crying GIFs, I apologize in advance.
There were a couple good things today. Like I got to see Markie, who is just so adorable. That boy is a hot mess though. Accident prone little hyperactive boy. I love him quite dearly.
I'm home. For a month. And classes are out. OH and I got 42 dollars for my Econ book. :D But mostly... yeah, today blows.
I waited until 2AM to write my final paper last night/this morning, really. It turned out fine, I think, except I had a minor panic attack because A) Steph locked her printer in her closet, B) it didn't have any black ink anyway and C) the printer downstairs in my dorm doesn't work, so I was gonna have to get my ass to the library to go print it. Then I remembered Lauren had a printer two doors down and that solved that problem. The other problem was I hadn't begun to study for the final itself.
LOL.
So I do that until around 4:30, 5:00AM, and I decide, "You know what? I'm tired. I'm gonna take a 'nap,' and I'll get up to study some more in a couple hours."
A couple hours turned into "OH SHIT IS IT ELEVEN O CLOCK ALREADY" and my final is at noon and I've slept through my Econ review session and now have no time to eat breakfast before the exam. I go print my paper, review a little bit more, throw on a jacket and get over there. Now, when I arrive, my teacher is A) late and B) looks pissed off. All of us are sitting there looking at each other going, "Well, shit. She's having a bad day."
BUT
LET ME TELL YOU, FRIENDS
I HAVE BEEN BLESSED BY GOD AND PRAYER
You see, I helped out a couple of RAs in my building Wednesday night when I was saying "Fuck Trig" and not doing anything for that final after my Pity Nap and breakdown by going to get them a meal transfer at the Taco Bell in the 459. They're both black and Christian and Whitney was roaming around like a five year old waiting to open her birthday presents like, "Are they here yet? Can I have it? Can I? Where's mine?" and we had to walk through the cold and wind and rain and wait twenty minutes for it, so she and Chaun prayed over me and asked that whatever I had studied let it be on the test (because it is so wrong to ask God to help you do good on the test, that's like, deiety favoritism or something), and lo and behold I didn't fail Trig, I was actually 1 question off from a B in the class, so there you go there--
So Ms. Overman is like, "Okay. I have a plan." And it was basically, if we answered 10 questions of hers, she would let us ask her 10 questions of stuff we didn't know on the final. We're all like, YES PLZ, and she's brightening up as this goes on with our enthusiasm.
Her first question: "What tree is the partridge in?"
Us: ... a pear tree?
Her: YES! *marks one down*
As we're answering questions and giggling and laughing, the teacher from across the hall pokes his head in like, "Hey, I know y'all are having a good time and I'm happy for you, really, but we're having a final over here and you're kinda loud. My students asked me to finally say something, so if you could keep it down a little that'd be great." We all put on contrite faces and Ms. Overman gave a sincere apology and then whispered, "Party pooper!" before the door closed after he left. IT WAS GREAT.
We proceed in this easy fashion for 9 more questions (with anything from "How many days of Christmas are there?" to "What do you eat on Christmas?" -- when we responded with mixed reviews of Ham, Turkey and Roast Beast, she amended it to, "Do you eat on Christmas?", to a random, "What's the German word for Christmas tree, which someone knew, awesome!), and then Jonah asks from the left corner of the room, "Double or nothing?"
Ms. Overman: "I was hoping someone would ask that." *devious look in eyes* "If you, and I mean each and every one of you," *pointed looks at some of the people who rarely participate in class*, "participate in a retelling of The Twelve Days of Christmas, then I'll give you 20 questions. Show of hands, who wants to just take the 10 and get out of here?"
NARY A HAND IN THE AIR. It was hilarious-- our tree was a 6 and a half foot tall basketball player, and Jonah volunteered to be the partridge who proceeded to jump into his arms at each mention of their roles-- I was a swan a-swimming, and my backstroke was fierce. And keep in mind, this is a class of nearly 100 students, and we're trying to keep the noise down, so we're whispering the song together. HILARIOUS, to say the least, and quite the mood lifter. So we all take our tests and I think I did fairly well on it even with my little studying and then I got a few more answers through our 20 questions, so that went well.
Pretty sure I've got an A in that class, because if my math is right (which, as we well know, is subject to scrutiny and could well be wrong), I only have to get an 80 on the final to get an A, and I'm pretty sure I got better than that. Likely an A, so I'm set there. It was a great way to "start the day." Quotes because I technically started it procrastinating from doing a damn thing about Theatre at all. *shrug*
This cramming thing seems to work for me. I really need to find a job where I can be nocturnal like my dad, it really just works for me.
I'm mean, it's half past one and I'm going to go over Econ briefly, just skim my textbook and then get up to go to Louie's in the morning before my last final and come to my room and pack and then go HOME.
IN TWELVE HOURS I WILL BE ON I-10 WEST, BITCHES.
Oh, and I was reminded of some old school ebonics (complete with translations!), which I'm sure A WIGGA 4 LIEEFFF LIKE LARA, AKA paskettios COULD UNDERSTAND, HUH. I BET YOU GET THIS ONE, TOO. (I'M FIN TA RAISE UP AND GET MY TRAVEL ON, FOR REAL.) YOU KNOW, IT WAS PROBABLY YOU WHO SCRIPTED THIS (COMPLETELY REAL/LEGITIMATE/OFFICIAL DELTA AIRLINES) COMMERCIAL BASED ON YOUR REAL LIFE, RIGHT? Yeah, huh. Oh, man. Does anyone remember the days of funnyjunk.com? 'Cause that's where I learned The History of the "F" Word and all about The End Of Ze World. AND OMG SCHFIFTY FIVE.
And it's sad but true that I feel all the friends I have (okay, not all, but a staggeringly astounding amount) make me feel like everyone else has had sex than me.
Minutes to midnight and I've yet to start the final paper that constitutes a large portion of my grade due tomorrow half after noon. When I have yet to study for the same class's final, and I plan on attending a study session for my econ final (for Saturday) right before it.
Man, I'm really trying to fuck up my A in Theatre.
*buckles down*
I mean, it could be because I'm just fucking tired of studying. I worked my ass off, cried, pitied myself, got resolved, went for help, studied some more, cried some more, shed blood/sweat/tears/unidentified substances over them, got papercuts on my fingers for flipping the pages of my textbook back and forth and back and forth and I STILL didn't get a B in Trig.
FML.
I mean, I'm going to get a 79.
Now, to be fair, I got a 76 on my final. Which is fairly good; only half a point off of being my all-time high score on a trig test, sadly enough. But I needed a 79 or better. This literally means that if I had gotten one more question right I could've gotten an 80 in the class and kept my GPA from the dangerous depths of financial aid probation. Oh, and it shot the dean's list all to hell.
I'm also irrationally angry about the snow. I mean, I can't even fucking enjoy it. Anywhere. Can't ctach a break. I want to be home, because Facebook is all, "OMG SNOW IN HOUSTON" everywhere, and I'm jealous and homesick, and then it snows here but I don't wake up until it's all gone and turned to ice because I'm up late studying fucking TRIG last night and there's no one here to play in it with anyway because Kiah's kinda not talking to me and I'm not really making an effort to talk to her because she's leaving and I don't wanna think about it really and damn it, is it too much to fucking ask that snow wait three days so I can be in Houston with my friends to play in a miracle of white flaky substance that we've hardly ever seen before?
It just made me want to cry. Like I said, irrationally upset. I was stressed about Trig still. This was kind of a bubbling over feeling that happened from about this time yesterday until roughtly 5:00 tonight. I also found it irritating that I had "Darienne is close to tears" as my Facebook status for nearly a day and no one commented on it.
Look, evrymemry and tikimoof, I know you're there for me. I know you are. Really, I do. Postpone the hugs. Hold them in. Tackle me when you see me if you have to, but it kinda just makes me sadder to see that people I'm half a state away from care more than people around me here, or the people that I want to notice I'm unhappy but don't seem to have the time to, and that doesn't really apply to like, cherryfeather or ukrazy or paskettios or other LJers, it's those who don't blog and who Facebook that I want to pay attention to how upset I really am.
Now a problem with that might be that I just don't come right out with my emotions and say I'm upset or having a bad day, but is it so much to ask that someone fucking notice I'm unhappy? Even in an IM-type conversation? I know I might not say it but I certainly wasn't acting like myself, either. Whatever. I can't pretend like it's fair that Bethany can't tell I'm unhappy from Germany when I won't say something and she's in such a good mood herself.
Anyway. Mom wasn't as upset about it as I thought she would be, which was refreshingly nice, and just told me to focus on what I have coming up, since it's in the past and I now don't have to worry about it ever again. Dad said the same thing; ace what I can that's ahead of me. So, that was good. For once I came out of a talk with my parents happier than I went in, which I think Amalie would be happy about. (I was at her house during Thanksgiving break, and she said I picked up the phone with a smile and by the time I hung up I had completely deflated and my eyes had gotten sad in a matter of minutes after talking with mom.)
Oh, and it needing to be so cold that it can snow means OMFG I'M A FROZEN SHADOW OF MY FORMER SELF. Like, I'm bundled up in rain boots, jeans, soccer socks, underwear, an undershirt, a longsleeved shirt, a t-shirt, a fleece-hooded jacket, my outer rain/winter coat with a fleece lining, a scarf wrapped around most of my face and a hat with ear flaps (and no, it doesn't look that dumb actually, it's really kind of cute, it has a poof on the top). I can't even ride my bike anywhere because it's too cold for my fingers and I have no gloves.
In other news, I'm still procrastinating, and man, Qwantz is friggin' ADDICTING. Try reading just one.
OKAY IT'S 1AM I STILL HAVEN'T STARTED MY PAPER OR STUDIED GOODBYE NOW
So Steph peaced out today. I'm sitting here looking at her side of the room that has her *GINORMOUS* bike in front of her stripped down bed and her closet door is closed and devoid of clothes -- because she didn't know what she'd want to wear for a month she she took it ALL home-- and the room feels empty and smaller and sad now.
:(
I didn't realize I would miss Steph that much! Kinda crazy.
Anyway, I got an 81 on my Astronomy final (WOO! ALMOST-ALL-NIGHTER WAS SO WORTH IT) that only took me 15 minutes to do, and so I think I'll get an A in the class because she is going to round up and an 88 is an A for her. YES!
So, current count: LSU 1001- A Sociology - A/B, depending on final exam Astronomy - A, hopefully Trigonometry - B/C, depending on final exam Theatre - A, probably Economics - B, probably, depending on final exam
Sociology. I feel pretty good. Got to have my cheat sheet and all that, I think I got an 85+. If I got an A, I could possibly get one in the class.
Astronomy tomorrow-- a minor F.M.L. only because I didn't pay shit for attention in the last classes of the year. Skipped some, didn't take notes. Yeah. It'll probably bite me in the ass. *sigh* It's okay, I'll study tonight and it's not until 1:00pm tomorrow, so I'll have time tomorrow to do it.
So, while I've only taken one exam today, Steph is --as of this moment, as of earlier, actually-- DONE. She's packing up and going home tomorrow. WTF. WHY GOD WHY. *sigh* I'm not even mad at her, I'm just stuck here for another four days alone. Gonna be real quiet though, no excuse to study. BUt also no randomly borrowing her stuff 'cause she's taking all of it back with her. Which is what I'm tempted to do-- I mean, I'm gonna be home for a month (*happy dance*), and I'll be pissed everytime I reach for something and go, "Fuck! It's at school!"
But I'm sure mom is gonna be like, "HELL TO THE NO" if she sees like four bags, a backpack and a box full of stuff. Whatever. I'll figure it out later. Talked to dad after dinner tonight, and I realized why I did so badly on my second Sociology test-- Grandpa died the day before. Studying that night was kind of moot, and I got a C on the test the next day. I wish the timing had been different, I could've had an A in this class easy. Ah, well.
Gonna go get late night snackages with Steph 'cause she wants pizza and even though I'm still pretty full from dinner (first time I ever had salisbury steak in my life), I know if she brings something back I'll be hungry. Anyway, I need to get a little more cereal and I'll probably resort to eating that all week 'cause I need to drink the rest of this milk I bought. *headdesk*
Had a nap tonight. Fucking black hole of sleep-- after I talked to dad I was like, okay, break until 6:00, then studying. Around 6:15 I go to lay down because I'm full and tired and keep shutting off my alarms that I've set specificially so I'll get my ass up to study again. Don't finally drag my ass out of bed until almost 9:00.
Bollocks. >.<
Well, at least I'm awake enough to study now.
Anyway. Gotta get to that Astronomy. Learnin' about Io and Jovians and death of the Dinos and whatnots.
