"you can't always get what you want"

I've had two goofy looking guys hit on me in the past week and it's getting really old. Can I please just choose somebody and they miraculously like me back? That'd be great. Thanks. Both of them pestered me for my number and unfortunately one of them got it and GAH I'm only keeping his number so as not to inadvertently answer it one day.

Watched House with Marlee tonight and made plans for this weekend/next week sometime. I forget how well I know the bloopers word for word until I'm watching them again. AND VALLEY GIRL VERSIONS. OH LISA AND JMO, I LOVE YOU SO. GOOD TIMES. What's not good times is the whole 4th season not having a blooper reel bullshit. Yeah. No one cares about the writers. I don't love you. I want bloopers, dammit. You had a ginormous cast. I know scenes did not go well. SHOW ME THE FUNNIES. (Also, I miss the original!Ducklings. Do not accept imitations.) Cuddy never stops being funny. "You always have a reason! You say you can help people, but you never say the words. You come in screaming something like, 'His pancreas is going to explode because his brain is on fire!!'" LOLZ.

I got money in the bank! Except I really need to get on track with the online pay-stub biz so that I can make sure they're not shortchanging me hours or anything. Although, if Ken is billing me for my polos, that could also explain it. Between large tax deductions and a little leeway on the exact days we turned in our pay cards, it could be right or it could be off by a couple shifts worth of dollars, roughly 50 or 60, I think.

Fingertips still hurt. Not nearly as much tonight as yesterday but that's because I played significantly less tonight. Although I think I'm getting better? Julie says I'm learning pretty quickly, and I'm still practicing everyday as much as I can stand it. It would help me out a lot to learn the words to Run and Open Your Eyes by heart, because I kind of know the chords/when they need to change, it's glancing between the frets and the page that gets me off a bit. Playing along with the song works okay, but it just reminds me how neglectful I've been toward Scarlette in the past two months (GAH HAVE I BEEN HOME THAT LONG, HOLY CRAP) -- she is in desperate need of updating. What I really need to do is reinstall iTunes on O'Halloran and start buying up some music since now I've got cash to actually purchase things with. It's quite sad how old my music is. And I have acquired some new tunes in the interim of oh, I dunno, a year or so since I've actually updated my iPod? Yeah, it's been a while.

Okay. I had other stuff to say, like how my muse has been randomly attacking me with Casey/Olivia bits while I'm a work (WTF) or scenes with characters I can't even see (as in when I see it in my mind's eye, I can't tell who it is talking out of my range of usual suspects) with awkward, realistic dialogue that I don't want to lose track of, but I need to get some sleep, especially if I'm going with my cousins to the Children's Museum tomorrow during their free admission time.

I need some time off. To write, and to paint/refurnish my room.

Not exactly the day off I was hoping for.

First off, I obviously need to spend more time on the internet, as my flist is getting really annoying to read through 240 entries back to find a post I recognize. JESUS H CHRIST, ONTD_STARTREK, HAVE YOU NO LIMITS? (Although I guess that would defeat the point...)

Slept in until noon(ish), goofed off for a while longer, argued with parents about random furniture choices, measured my room for paint. Made plans to go get said paint on Monday. Started moving stuff from my room to guest room with Mom, which led to an argument. (Big surprise there.) Responded to a work email, then decided to go shop for new flip flops/drive aimlessly around for a bit. Saw Julie during driving, also picked a fight with Liz because she picked up the hint and Amalie didn't.

Instead get derailed from a roaming drive by Marlee wanting to hang out. Swing by Hobby Lobby to get items for Katie's really belated birthday present, then grab a pizza and come home. Marlee and I then catch up on our lives in between bites of Little Caesar's and commercials of House on USA network. It's kinda funny explaining House timelines to her because she doesn't watch regularly, just when it happens to be on or when she's at my house. She likes it, but not enough to follow it. It also is made more amusing by the fact that USA refuses to show them in any semblance of order, so it jumps from season three (with ducklings) to season four (with many new!ducklings) to season five (with new!three!ducklings) and a rapidly increasing scale of House/Cuddy UST.

Meanwhile, ate half that cheese pizza and completed the frame for Katie. Marlee whined about how I'm so artistic and I was just happy the thing didn't turn out shitty/I didn't get paint on my new shirt.

Am currently dreading tomorrow, it being my first day as shift supervisor. And it being a Saturday. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I want more days off, this one wasn't fun enough.

Professional Class Crasher

YEAH ROCKETS YEAHHHHHH

WOOOOOOOO

Sorry, you know how worked up I get.

Crashed school a bit today, and by a bit I mean I showed up at lunch and saw Newland, Seward and the kids in TPP but no Frye Frye-- until the banquet that I also crashed, that is. *grin* Mmm, MOAR Pappasito's fajitas. It was nice and there were passing of thrones/regimes/etc. That was fun. Also saw evrymemry , who is currently infested with plague, not swine flu. Get it right, guys. (She might kill you ded if you say the latter rather than the former, word to the wise.)

Worked again today. I like the swim team kids, except for most of them sort of need lessons before they belong in a pool together so little. But they're all pretty adorable, except for Gabriella's younger brother. GAH THAT KID. He doesn't want to be on a swim team, he just wants to be in a pool, period. According to the schedule next week, I'm going to be sitting at the indoor pool by myself for a few hours, and closing up. What. The. Fuck. I'll worry about that later, I guess.

Decided I'm going to school again tomorrow, and I sort of want to go for the whole day, but that would require getting up early and we all know how well that goes with my nocturnal habits, soooo... I'll probably be showing up at lunch again tomorrow. Then I'm apparently going to work at 3:30pm? I need to talk to Ken about that tomorrow morning.

Speaking of needing to talk to someone about a morning, I need to talk to Jules about Saturday morning! She texted me, but I was at the banquet and didn't notice until late tonight when I found my phone again, but she never texted back. I'll call her tomorrow sometime and fix up those deets.

And yes, I watched Bones last night, then missed it tonight due to the banquet. I'm not all that sad about missing the repeat because --

( cut for spoilers about both the Bones and House season finalesCollapse )

*sigh*

Okay. I'm done now, no more spoilers. Just don't blink look up.

Riding around with the new Fall Out Boy CD is even better than just listening to it while on the computer. I forgot how much I missed driving with the music blasting. Driving itself can be a bit of a chore, but not when you're rocking out with you cock out.*

So, today I slept until noonish. Woke up, read TIME magazine for a while, had some cereal, watched TV/conversed with Mom, fooled around online and found out that I got an A in Fiction. Match that with the A I got in Theatre and the pretty-assured A I got in French and that assures me my 3.6 GPA, BITCHES. And, if I managed to pull an A out of my ass for Brit Lit, that could be bumped up to a 3.8. I'm feelin' pretty damned good right about now.

Next thing I know it's time to watch the House finale. I can't even... I don't much have words to express what I feel about it, other than I cannot wait for fall. I need the next storyline/new season/episode LIKE NOW.

No wonder FOB's 20 Dollar Nose Bleed sounds like P!@TD: Brandon Urie1 is frickin' in the song! Thank you, Songza, for informing me.

Also concluding tonight was Castle. Let me just say how much I love this show. A LOT. It's light and funny and still really good mystery, methinks. I've watched quite a lot of crime drama in my life, from Murder, She Wrote to CSI to Pushing Daisies, and I still don't usually figure it out or even care to think ahead in the plot to want to, because I'm enjoying the episode so much. Also, for anyone who has actually read Kids of Eden, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic are pretty much Gideon and Cleo, to those of you who know what that actually means/signifies.

I decided against going to school today, mostly because I'm lazy, and partially because I'm going to want to go more than once so I'll just wait until Thursday. Why so long, you ask? Well, I promised my layout services to my aunt Carolyn for tomorrow and the next day, so I'll be off doing that in the early afternoon of the next two days.

Also applied to be Martha Jones in brb_gallifrey  today, and watched Gridlock and Daleks In Manhattan to get myself in my Jonesy mood. :D I forgot how much I loved Martha and hated the way Ten was acting/some of the season 3 plots. Oh, it's so nice to be back on the home computer that's got enough memory to hold all my DW episodes. So nice.

Something else that's nice: THE ROCKETS BEING TIED UP WITH THE LAKERS, THAT'S FUCKING WHAT

Another something else that's nice: INFINITE REGRESS COMING ON TONIGHT. Unfortunately, no O'Halloran having internets means no play-by-play of my squee. Sorry. D:

Anyway, I'm off to make myself some cookies and cream ice cream (since I didn't eat all too much today) and watch me some Seven of Nine on Voyager at 2am. (Yes, I'm still sore about that, but I don't know what to do about it other than complain. Deal.)

*That's a technical term.
1 - Lead singer of P!@TD2
2 - I have learned your magics, ukrazy! Ha HA!

Got up at ungodly early 7:30am to take my Fiction final. I really wish it had been later, my sentences were hopefully coherent and deep enough for an A. I'd have to had Fed that up so seriously to not get an A in that class. So that's done.

Came back, got breakfast, stomach was hurting so I decided to sleep it off a bit. Crashed until roughly noon, even though I got 7+ hours last night, I was out well before midnight. Halfheartedly got up, studied French some, ignored MAA (because the thought of it very seriously makes me want to just start crying) and then left to gather with my classmates at 3:30 for a review.

Ha da pretty good one with Angelique for roughly an hour, then grabbed some Chick-Fil-A with classmates prior to the exam. I did... okay. Hopefully well enough to keep my A, but negation and depuis v. pendant can go right to hell and die in a fire. To get a B, I basically had to show up, so that's a check. If the math is right, I only had to pass to get an A. I'd really love to do well on the final, though, considering I didn't do so hot on my second essay/composition/Redacion thing. I'm seriously going to miss Angelique; she's not even teaching here next semester. *pout*

Got back from the test at about 7:30, too late to start watching this EPIC EPISODE OF HOUSE THAT THE ENTIRE HUDDY COMMUNITY HAS BEEN FLAILING OVER SINCE LAST WEEK'S PROMO, plus Steph was already watching Dancing With the Stars. Which is admittedly good, but cor, I will not miss having to share my television during the summer.

Couldn't seem to find it in me to bring myself to study, so I watched Castle after Dancing With The Stars. OH YES. Do not want an old flame coming into Beckett's life! Want Castle in Beckett's life! AND SHE'S SUCH A FANGIRL EEEE I love it. LOOOOVE it. :D

Dear TV Gods,

Please to not be canceling Dollhouse or Castle. JUST GIVE ME 13 MOAR EPISODES PLZ PLZ PLZ

Your rabid fangirl,
Me

Have an ungodly early 7:30am AGAIN tomorrow for Theatre, which won't take me long to study for tonight. AFTER HOUSE. Which I have downloaded now. (And then I am going to have to start thinking about MAA. This is when crying will commence.)

ROCKETS ARE UP 8 ON THE LAKERS DO WORK BOYS DO WORK DO ITTTTTTTTTT

Day in a nutshell.

I slept until noon. Hehehe. Rachel seemed surprised. I was unconcerned. There was reaaaaally delicious sushi, a bit of shopping and quite a bit more of vegging on the couch. A day in the life of a collegiate on spring break. I consider it well spent. Mostly because of the following statement:

Boulder is so pretty.

I can't express this enough. Just really freaking gorgeous-- but highly bright. I may have mentioned this fact earlier. So, I bought sunglasses. :D It's kind of a thing I do.

Later, Rachel and I went up the mountains with Tim, and while he bouldered, we snacked. It was fantastic.

Then TJ and Adam made us dinner, and we watched House (again).

House tonight, summed up in one word. In. TENSE. Seriously. Highly emotional, with extra helpings of bastard!House, emo!Wilson and empathetic!Cuddy.

Top Gear. #43. Oh my god. I have never snickered that much in one hour in my life.

Alright, I'm on borrowed time (and a borrowed computer) so until tomorrow.

HOUSTON FUCKING TEXAS OR BUST

Love ya, CO.
Okay. School accomplished.

SPRING BREAK, SOCK IT TO ME.

But not too hard, you know. And not with any of that irony bullshit. I want my traveling to go smoothly, you hear me?

I'm exaggerating a bit, I still have one class tomorrow, but it isn't until 12:30, and it's finishing a movie/discussing it. I think I can handle that.

So, tonight, I watched Bones -- CAM I LOVE YOU SO HARD RIGHT NOW -- and downloaded House from Monday and watched that too. Mos Def. You rock. Especially on calling out Cuddy. PRITTY CUDDY CARING ABOUT HOUSE WAS PRITTY AND CARING. LULZ Wilson. Poor, poor, frustrated Wilson. ILU too.

I think... I might call it a night. I want to get up for breakfast and then get a few things done tomorrow before and after class, so we'll see.

Obviously I am not out with friends at Reggie's, but that is not due to me decided fully I didn't want to go, that was nobody calling/texting me about it. To be fair, I did make it fairly clear I wasn't planning on going. It's always nice to be asked, though, I might've caved.

Eh. Whatever. Steph's still not back from the library, and her status on Facebook is like, "sleep deprived, thanks LSU!" Girl doesn't know the meaning of sleep deprivation, right (BHS) cardinals? (Sorry, I've listened to Avenue Q's The Internet Is For Porn one too many times in the past few days. I keep expecting to hear a rousing chorus of "ready!" in response to a broad question.)

Okay. Many preparations to be done tomorrow (COLORADO IS THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, OMFG WAHHH), plus I want my last hot breakfast before I whisk away to far-off places, so it's curtains for me. Lacy, gently wafting curtains.

Night all.

Random: My neck hurts. Like, it needs a very serious and very painful massage to make it better.

So, Steph decided to stay up really late last night. I mean like, past 3AM late. Which is totally out of character for her. She was painting her best friend's birthday gift, and it turned out pretty cute I think. But the bad thing was that I finally probably should have gotten a huge amount of sleep if I had gone to bed on time and not procrastinated on my letter for French. Only good thing about being up was I got to see Year of Hell, Part 2. :D Then I promptly went to bed.

As it were, I did get a lot of sleep, but I didn't do any reading for my classes. Thankfully I managed to scrape on through and now can catch up on sleep and reading this weekend. All I have tomorrow is Fiction lecture and Theatre. I've read for the latter, not the former, but both ways I can get through both classes, so I'm calling it a night.

I watched Bones and called Liz and it was dorky and fun and happy and I'm so going to have to write that crossover, cherryfeather , because Cam *totally* was the only one who cared about safety and regulations like she would and everyone else was just like CURIOSITY, I HAS IT and she was like *headdesk* and yeah, I love this show more and more.

Also watched L&O: UK just now, I like it, it's just that they're still redoing old episodes of our L&O so the plots are like... contrived, but for them it's fresh and it's still a pretty pretty show. I won't lie. I'm in it for Freema and now Daniel Craig* and Jamie Bamber because LAWD HE IS HAWT.

Getting caught up on my shows has made me happy; House was good -- WILSON I LOVE YOU SO. And Jerkface McDouchbaggerson was pretty funny. HE MADE MY CUDDY HAPPY. Because he was all I'D DO YOU IN A MINUTE and it's TRUFAX. And House engineered it to be so. I'm glad I have this one downloaded and safe. :D My television has been comforting after so much stress. Destressing with early seasons of SVU and

OMFG THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF ALEXANDRA CABOT ON TUESDAY WAS FRIGGING BRILLIANT IT MADE ME SO ABSURDLY HAPPY I STARTED CLAPPING MY HANDS AFTER THE EPISODE WAS OVER AND GIGGLING YEYYYYYY

A word of advice: it is always good to randomy Facebook IM someone. The ensuing conversation is going to be awesome, like me and Shannon reliving the P-Zone (Poetry Zone, for those of you not acquainted with the night) and planning to see each other this summer.

The only bad thing about getting off for Mardi Gras like all these crazy Louisianaians is that everyone's spring break is right about... NOW and they're all YAY HOUSTON and I'm all... COME GET ME.

*See this post.
Cor, I feel huge. I managed to eat quite a lot today, as my protruding stomach would have me remember. Was treated to lunch (which was actually breakfast) at Hooters today by Lauren's mom, and I'm accompanying the Hoffpauirs to a crawfish boil tomorrow. Of course I haven't got one iota of work done yet, so I'm apparently saving it 'til when I get home/Wednesday.

So this break hasn't turned out how I imagined it would, in any sense, but I guess it has been okay. Apparently I've quite ingratiated myself with Lauren's entire family. I seem to do that. I guess it's charisma? Who knows. As long as I'm given the chance, families love me, parents especially.

House was really good tonight. Sorry I don't have a webcam so you could see too, calternative. D: Llama face. It was awesome talking with Bethany (aka calternative) for like, three something hours, though. That was cool, and fun, and entertaining, as always. Not fighting with Steph for a change was nice, even though as far as squabbles over the TV go, we've fairly few minor battles.

Lyrics as the subject because I can -- GOD I LOVE SNOW PATROL, I FORGET HOW AWESOME THEY ARE WHEN I'M NOT LISTENING TO THEM. Sorry about the capslock, it just happens when I get excited. Seeing them live was so amazing, and it's coming up on two years ago now... man. That's a show I wish I could revisit constantly.

Fell into some Nap, missed the new episode of Trust Me just as I caught up on the old one around 8:45. Coudln't be bothered to wake up enough to watch the next episode, guess I'll just pirate it again. I really ought to be a good person and see of TNT has a video player. (But I probably won't.)

Dear Spike TV,

You know you're pretty awesome. In fact you're well aware of this. You've got all the UFC fighting, and CSI: and CSI: NY reruns, which are pretty awesome. You show Bond movies all the time, and are generally BA. But this not showing Trek anymore bullshit is starting to wear thin. 2:00 AM? And you wonder why no one watches? I'd love to add into my prayers, "And give us this day our daily Voyager, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Borg, except for Seven of Nine." But noooOOOoooo. That's okay though. I'll tough it out; I'm a night owl, and this week, I can afford to stay up to watch them.

TL;DR: GIVE ME BACK MY JANEWAY, BITCHES.

Frustratedly yours,
Me

OMG I AM A BUNDLE OF SQUEE, LAW AND ORDER UK FINALLY AIRED YAY I GET MORE FREEMA HOORAY, THANK YOU FLIST, THANK YOU LIVEJOURNAL I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

I seriously don't know what I'd do without LJ sometimes. I pray nothing is actually wrong with LJ and that it's around for years and years and I get to be a crochety old middle aged mom puttering around on LJ gabbing about how it used to be as changes sweep through in constant waves.

I've been feeling very meh lately. Don't exactly know what's up with that. I mean, in a general sense, I've been feeling like this since Grandpa died, Liz noticed that during winter break. But I dunno what's up, really. I went through a similar phase around this time last year, and I don't think it's the winter blues. I don't know what it is.

Completely off topic, I finally printed out my NaNoWriMo today. 100+ pages of printed 11-pt font and it feels really cool to have a hefty stack of words that actually means something. BUT WHILE I WAS DOWN THERE (in the Print Lab) let me tell you. We tend to have problems with our printer; as in, whenver I need it, it's fucked up beyond all reason. Like, we have a whole new one right now because before Christmas break, some dumbass broke the pull out feed tray for paper. I mean mangled the shit out of that thing. Anyway. I go down there and I can't log on for a few minutes (figure out it was the wrong server I was trying, so my password didn't work) but while I'm struggling to get on, another girl comes in (it had previously been only me). I'm like, "Aw, damn it, I just have to do this one thing and then I'll be done," but she's one of those sorority types (I don't care if I'm being stereotypical, I live in a building full of them, I'm tired of their shit) who wouldn't agree if I politely asked to print my stuff real quick.

So I'm trying to kill time and let her print whatever she's printing and I'm facing the back wall away from her and she's behind me on the comp next to the printer. Now, before I go on, I'll admit that in that quiet room, messing with the printer at all makes loud noises, and it's on those plastic fold out tables, which seem to magnify noise tenfold. But I swear to god... the slamming and yanking I could hear going on behind me was making me cringe. I don't even treat the TPP printer like that, and I curse that POS to Hell and back. She very well could have been the reason the previous printer was fucked up in the first place. I was painfully aware of my nerdiness showing through because my love and respect for technology was SCREAMING at me. I was literally wincing and biting my lip so I wouldn't say, "Be nice to the printer," because THAT certainly would've earned me a WTF look from her and who the hell am I to care about a free printer downstairs? *sigh* Then she takes forever, and continually opens and shuts the thing because she doesn't have enough paper in the damn thing like three times. PUT YOUR WHOLE STACK IN AND THEN TAKE BACK THE EXCESS, IT'S NOT THAT HARD AND IT'S LESS STRESS ON THE PAPER TRAY (WHICH ALREADY GETS A TOUGH ENOUGH WORKOUT AS IT IS). Sorry. It's just that the printer tray is slightly off kilter, so you have to lift it a little so the tray'll slide in. Apparently, the preferred method of niggling the tray into position is to SLAM the fucking thing as hard as you can repeatedly until you shove it into place.

As you can tell, I was quite irked and petted the new thing a little once she was gone. Sorry about that. Anyway.

Watched the Bones and House (last fifteen minutes) that I missed this week, and OMFG BONES JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER. The end of House was kinda nice too, I LOVE YOU JAMES WILSON. GO CONSOLE YOURSELF WITH CUDDY AND/OR HOUSE. IT'LL BE OKAY. THEY LOVE YOU IN THEIR OWN, TWISTED, MESSED UP KIND OF WAYS.

But yeah, that was after class, which went fine. Except OH MY GAWD my Theatre class gets on my nerves, and I mean the students. There was a presentation that took most of class, and the prof had like 15 minutes left and the class literally whines at her, "But it's Friday, can we go?" until she relents, and she relented mostly because none of them have actually read King Lear and could give her the info she wanted/they wouldn't shut up/there were only a dozen or so of us. *sighs* I thought I came to school to become an adult.

Speaking of becoming an adult, I have to do that responsible thing and write a paper this weekend/get caught up with all my reading, preferably tomorrow so I don't have to do much on Sunday. I'm sleeping in both days, but I mean I hope to God I can find the resolve to actually do something homework oriented tomorrow. So I'm gonna see if I can get through some of Madame Bovary tonight, instead of the fun novel Gods Behaving Badly which I'll get to eventually once I finish it.

To finish this post, a couple of quiz results. One of which I got from chozen_rogue, and another from the same site that I couldn't resist.

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Social Nerd

You're interested in things such as politics, psychology, child care, and peace. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a hippie, but some of you may be tree-huggers. You're the type of people who are interested in bettering the world. You're possible the least nerdy of them all; unless you participate in other activies that paled your nerdiness compared to your involvement in social activities. Whatever the case, we could still use more of you around. ^_^

What type of partier are you?
Your Result: The Lurker

You like to go out and party, go to bars, concerts, etc - but stay more on the sidelines. You and part of the action, but people have to approach you more than you jumping into the middle of the action. You typically don't get 'hammered', just buzzed enough to come out of your shell and talk to a few people, usually other 'lurkers'. Large groups of people talking at once intimidate you and you tend to drift away from the pack often.
