I was bored and made some icons. They suck, but I made them with no knowledge of how to use brushes or tutorials or anything. Go me. I threw some older ones in there too...
Feel free to take and edit them to your heart's desire.
So apparently next Month's issue of Asuka is out in Japan and....KRAD is back. Yes, Krad. *tries to keep from melting into a fangirl puddle*. I was hoping it'd happen eventually since Satoshi is currently with the two people that make him the most vulnerable, Daisuke and Risa.
I'm hoping to get done some more translating this week. It's going awfully slow thanks to school and the lack of weekends.
With my scanner (still) down, I'm about ready to kill something. I never thought I'd miss the thing so much...
Anyway, I was debating whether or not to post these since they're nothing but crappy picture taken by my really old digital camera, but seeing as I don't know when I'll get my scanner back, I guess I'll just up them for you to see.
And unfortunately my GIMP refuses to cooperate, which means I can't edit or scanlate pics (not that I was planning on scanlating these), so what you see is what you get. Sorry.
So after about 2 years of pondering about it, I've finally decided it's time. Time to escape from the hell hole I'm in. Time to be free. ...it's time to get a new computer. I have wanted a laptop and was saving for one, but I think I've run out of time with my desktop. It freezes nearly every day, it blue screens at least 3x a week, and I've had to reinstall windows at least twice in the span of six months. It's time to get rid of this thing. It's about three years past how long than they say you should keep a computer. Anyway, Ikasu and I are going to start looking into buying a new box. Hopefully I can find something nice in my price range -- ( Brawl SSECollapse )
For those of you wanting to buy a 360 (well, this is to one person), this might be of interest to you: "Asked if the company was assuming any hardware price drops for the year, CFO David Carlson (of Gamestop) said the company had "assumed a couple," including a $30 price cut for the PS2. Carlson added that the company is making the assumption that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 will have a $50 price cut some time in the year, but stressed that it had no direct knowledge". No official word on when this will happen, of course, but it's worth looking into if you're interested in picking up either of these systems.
If anyone's thinking about picking up the Wii...it's STILL going to be hard to find. Geez...for as much as people complain about the Wii, they sure are buying them by the truckloads. O.o
And apparently they're making an Ender's Game game? No details yet, but imop it'll probably be either a 360 game or a 360/PS3. I know for me I'd rather see a movie. I like Ender's Game a lot, but I don't know if I'd want to play a videogame of it... --
I played a little more Smash today and finally beat the part I was stuck in in adventure mode. Turns out I had the right idea to jump across the moving platforms (though if you stay on one too long it'll kill you), but I kept missing the last platform to jump to because I didn't see it. Once I spotted it and found out where it was I had no problems with the level.
The boss was probably one of the cooler ones I faced.
Ridley comes to us from Metroid Prime. Having never played a Metroid game I wasn't very familiar with him at all, and I'm still not. Ridley is basically a sort of dragon. He plays out a lot like the master hand, which makes finding a strategy to beat him pretty easy. The majority of his attacks are airborne attacks where he dives down at you. They can be easily avoided by jumping into the air.
So Ridley is easy....until you meet Meta Ridley.
Meta Ridley is similar to Ridley, except he's a lot tougher, and the game only gives you a minute and thirty seconds to beat him instead of the five minutes you got with Ridley. You're also fighting him on top of a moving vehicle, which makes it all the more harder. There isn't as much space and Meta Ridley will jump on the back of it, making you fly up into the air. It's fun. X_X
Even so, Ridley and Meta Ridley are two of the more fun bosses I've run into. I still think my favorite Nintendo boss was the knights you faced off in Twilight Princess, but Ridley gives you a run for your money.
And now I've grounded myself from playing any more Smash so I can do my homework. X_X Seeya later.
I can't believe I've almost had Brawl for two days now... It seems insane after having waited so long for the game to be released. And now it's here.
Like I said before, I got the game Saturday night at 12. Or Sunday morning, I guess. But I like to consider it Saturday still. X_X Anyway, I headed over to Gamestop at about 11 p.m. The place was absolutely crowded. I wanted to go and check out the used PS2 and GCN sections since I had nothing else to do, but the way was blocked by the 50 or so people gathered in front of the Gamestop's Wii, watching the tournaments go on. I really didn't care to watch the tourneys, so I just kinda stayed out of the way. About 11:30 they announced for people to line up and pay for their games. We all paid for our games and received a receipt with a letter and number on it. The letter signified which line you were to go in (there were three lines) and the number signified which place you had in line. I had A-4, meaning I was one of the first people to get my copy. At 12:00 they had us line up in our lines and they handed us a copy. After that we would just leave. That went really well. Kyle was A-24, yet he got done only 5 minutes after I left.
Back from Mitsuwa. I was going to take pictures, but upon entering the vicinity I realized that taking pictures was pointless. The place was basically a grocery store with a food court and bookstore, so taking pictures was kind of pointless. When you first come in, the grocery store is to your right and the bookstore is right to your left. You can subscribe to magazines there, but I didn't have enough money to do that. Fawn-san, the girl I went with, told me that she'd pick Asuka up for me if I wanted her to, as long as I paid her, of course. In front of you was a row of tables with items on it. It kind of reminded me of that truck they have at Old Navy when you come in. Kind of a mix of all sorts of different items, only these were more food items than clothing.
We headed over to the bookstore and made our way back to the manga department. They had a good selection of manga. There were some in English, though the majority was in Japanese. They were organized by publisher, so I could find Hana to Yume quite easily. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any Tales manga. I was kinda hoping to find some of the side stories in Abyss. Meh. I DID check out the zasshi section and got some manga zasshi. Irritatingly, all the manga and zasshi were wrapped in plastic, so I couldn't check them out before buying. I ended up buying Zero-Sum because it had a chapter of Saiyuki Gaiden in it (but it turned out to be kinda short and has no furi. Bah) and December's issue of Asuka (they are kinda behind, no?). I got the Asuka for one reason. It had a Code Geass schedule calendar. Very cool. It turned out to be a good buy since it had an article about DNAngel. I haven't read the article yet, though.
I also wound up getting Demon Sacred 4 and 11. They had 1-3 there too, but I had already spent enough money and didn't really want to spend more. At any rate, I DO have the scanlations. I'll get them eventually, but I had already spent more than I should have. ^^
Here's Asuka and Zero-Sum, Demon Sacred, and the schedule book. If I can get my scanner to work I'll scan in some of the pages. Each month has a different chibi character from the show.
Unfortunately, they didn't have much other than zasshi and manga, so I didn't really know what to get you guys. X_X Gomen ne. --
I was bored yesterday before work and decided to make some Tales miis. I made them without looking at any pictures, so they're not too great. At any rate, they're still works in progress. If you have any suggestions on how to make them look more like the real character, lemme know.
....they don't have RED hair, meaning I couldn't make a Luke mii. LAME
-Mr. Bad Touch Van
-Anise
I also made Guy, Tear, Lloyd, and Colette, but I don't like any of those enough to post them. I really want some input on the Van one... I can't get his hair right, unfortunately, but there's something else about him that doesn't quite feel right whenever I look at his mii. --
Going to Smash tonight. Kyle invited me over afterward. I honestly would rather go home and try out Brawl alone, but I might go just to be social. X_X
Well, I got a response back from the foreign language department (that was quick!), who informed me that they didn't have any open spots. They had even had to turn away Lafayette students. Needless to say, I was a little depressed about that.
I figured out that my computer hates Zone Alarm. I turned it off and turned AVG back on and all the freezing-ness disappeared and it works like normal. And I can STILL get online. WTF.
My supervisor came today to supervise my class. A little annoying since I didn't have anyone come. *sighs* Hopefully next time will be different.
This is one song you hear often in Twilight Princess since you spend so much time running around the field (at least I do). Whenever I think of TP I always think of this song.
-This is one of my favorite songs from TP. I'm glad they finally got it orchestrated. BTW, the official title (at least for TP) is Midna's Desperate Hour, not Midna's Desperation. The person who named the songs got it wrong... >_<
-Anyone who has played OoT, or even seen it, will surely remember this song. Other than the main theme, this is probably one of the most recognizable Zelda songs.
That's all for now. Time for bed.
found this online. Cannot WAIT till NP comes (only 8 more days)
